Lua – The Brindle French Bulldog, 10″ x 10″, Acrylics
I’m finally finished! As usual, the paintings are always more challenging that I expect when I first get started. This was no exceptions.
The hardest parts of this painting were the wrinkly cheeks/muzzle/jowls area and the very bright highlight on top of the head. I like the purple with the colouring of the dog, I think it gives her a bit of feminity and it plays off well against the yellow-orange parts of the fur
Lua is an energetic, very sweet little bulldog that lives in my building. She seems very curious and I just fell in love with those big dark brown eyes.
I hope to be able to do another painting this week, probably a portrait of my husband Ross 🙂
